First post to this blog~

Morning to all!!

Let me do a simple introduction to all. My name is Peggy Wang, 26 this year. A mother of 1 cute little boy named Perseus, a wife to an older boy named Richard, and a soldier that is currently on NPL ;)

Currently we are staying in Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. Due to my husband's posting to a Air Base in Butterworth, we'll be here for the next 3 years!! The reason why I started writing again is because I want to keep a record of our memories here in Penang, and of course, my husband has been pestering me to write a blog on all the things that we can do/eat/whatever in Penang :)

So... we have been here since mid march, about 4 1/2 months. Let me do some sharing on some of the differences in lifestyles compared with the busy city, Singapore.

1) I remembered the first time we landed in PIA (Penang International Airport), I was shocked to see such cute little airport! *which you can't even house a A380 at all, only for small size aircrafts*

2) The shopping malls are mostly opened by Capital Mall Asia. So I can see some similar shops there which resemblence those in SG.

3) If anyone were to stay there for quite some time, you'll realised that the pace of life can be irritating to majority of Singaporeans. Just by waiting for a installation of home broad bands and cable tv will take almost a MONTH to PROCESS..... So don't even talk about efficiency and effectiveness if you wanna start a business here okay? Lols!!!

4) The people here are generally friendly and happy bunch :) Don't usually see people with super black face early in the morning :)

5) The FOOD here is really GOOD~!!! The food price wise, to us it can be really CHEAP due to the exchange rate we have for ringgit. But for any Malaysian, it is expensive in their currency and the wages they earned every month. So please be a nice tourist, don't keep on saying CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP in front of the locals :)

6) When it comes to shopping, not EVERYTHING here is cheaper than SG okay?? The Branded stuffs are pretty expensive here... I rather to buy it from SG.

7) Let's talk about the races here. Majority are Chinese (mostly lived around the Northern part of Penang Island), the Malays and Indians are slightly lesser in numbers (They are everywhere). There are also quite a number of Japanese and Koreans that actually stay in Penang! Some of them open restaurants which have a good authentic taste ;) Locals here knows at least 3 languages: Melayu, mother tongue, and Hokkien. *Some of them know 4, which includes English...*

OKAY, I think I've said enough for this post~!! Shall do some posts on the FOODIE and Tourist attractions here soon!!
